It's been a hard day's night...

...and I've been working like a dog!
It's been a hard day's night....I should be sleeping like a log.
Another tough day in the nursery. My peaceful slumber only disturbed by Dad trying to run me over with the rotavator.

Papa's got a brand new bag!

Last week I had a short break away from the garden. This involved travelling, though thankfully not in this bag. Just Dad's little joke. Ha, ha!
Very funny, Dad. Though it's very tempting to leave a little present!!!

Bailey's bulbs

Well here we are in sunny Devon (not)! Dad has finally got around to planting bulbs kindly donated by Peter Nyssen
500 bulbs all now distributed around the garden, should look great in the Spring. I am helping - see the bulb packets behind me. Dad covers the bulbs with wire before putting the soil back, as this helps stop the rabbits digging them up. Arggghhhh rabbits, let me at 'em!

A damp day for a dog

Water, water everywhere.......
And none of it in the right place.
Today, Dad and I have been trying to herd the torrents of water off the road outside the garden.
The water pours down the stream, blocking the drains with debris. Then it likes to jump out onto the road and cause mayhem!
We have been clearing the ditch and drains, which can be difficult. Sometimes Dad gets in a bad temper.  I have to cover my ears !!

Demise of a tree

Today Dad had to let this tree come down. It's roots had rotted and we had tied it to other trees in the Spring to support it. But the strong winds have weakened it so much, Dad said it was a danger to small dogs! Afterwards, I had a good inspection of the roots and they were very rotten.

The Stag is migrating

Today the artist Dido Crosby came to remove the lovely Stag she has been exhibiting in our Mythic Garden Sculpture Exhibition. It is very heavy and needs a crane to lift it. Dad helped her to take it apart and transport it on his tractor.
As you can see, I am helping to supervise all this........in my own special way!
